Just looking for people's opinions please. I have a successful kids magic show in a large holiday park. I also do schools and help disadvantaged children who never have any parties or much fun. I am quite well known. The park is now adding an other entertainer who has severe accusations against him for assault against a woman. It hit all the headlines a while back in loads of papers and created much anger, and although he was never convicted (it went to court eight times and because the woman had a breakdown they ran out of time so it was 'let go') The point is I don't feel comfortable being in a team with such a person especially when he will be entertaining the kids and families. Am I making too much of it ? and does it matter he wasn't convicted ? (look at a certain royal member !!) would you have him working beside you ? The holiday park don't seem to care so it's no use trying that again. I feel very strongly that he should not be amidst young kids and I am sure if many of the adults knew then they might batter him. Any comments welcome and also would I have a case for constructive dismissal ?

I agree with you. I wouldn't feel comfortable working with someone like that. I can't believe the holiday park are being so nonchalant about it.

I would feel highly uncomfortable if that was me. I would also be highly uncomfortable going to this holiday park as a guest. Are the people who did the hiring aware of his background?? If they are, I would be absolutely appalled that they think it is appropriate to hire him.

It's a tough one because unless you're willing to out him to everyone, you're a bit stuck as he'll just be allowed to work there.

In regards to constructive dismissal, potentially you may have a case but you'd have to exhaust all other avenues first such as bringing it up with the holiday park in the first instance, and get some proof that they are definitely aware of this guy's background.
