Hi Spike71,
I have a childminder for my DD2, but I didn't offer a rate to her, she told me how much she charges per hour, and if there is any food include it or not. Most CM have their rates, if you like it, fine, if not you'll have to look for another one.
I pay £3.5 per hour for a full time placement, with food include it. I live outside London. It will depend on the area you live in, it could be more expensive than others. A friend of mine living near Richmond was paying 4 years ago £5 per hour with not food.

really depends where you are. london would defintiely be in the region of £5 per hr.

i pay £35 a day for 8.5 hours, £30 for overnight. all included. east london.

I live in South East and pay £4 per hours and that includes food.

TBH the childminder will tell you her rates, it is not usual for you to offer them an hourly rate! A previous cm we used had a set full time weekly rate and a daily rate and an hourly rate. It was up to you which you chose.

check out childcarelink.gov.uk

you can put your postcode in and it will list childminders and there rates to give you an idea. Not all childminders are on the website though sowhen you actually search for candidates give them a call and your local childminding network.

Your CM will tell you - a good CM will have a standard contract and conditions for you to agree to re pay, holidays etc.

I pay £40 a day, 8-6, not including food or nappies (in London). This also includes 4 weeks paid holiday plus Xmas and bank holidays. Some CMs don't charge for holidays, but many will (and it's in the standard contract).
