Moving away

So recently got offered a job position in NZ and still deciding if we should move.

I do love the idea of trying new places & setting up a good life for our kids but the thought of leaving my family, just feels too much. There is a 12 hours time difference with UK & NZ and and almost 24 hours flight time.

Has anyone been in this situation and how did you handle it or adjust ?

Never been in this situation but I can only imagine how tough it is. Moving 3 hours away for uni was tough for me so don't think I'd cope with being 24 hours away.

Have you been to NZ before? If you haven't, it's definitely a huge move to be making. Is it for your dream job? What does your partner do if you have one? Will he find work over there? How old are the kids? If they've started school, how will they feel about moving away from the friends and a school system that they are familiar with? Do you normally rely on family much? Lots of questions to ask yourself really but try to stall the job offer as long as you can as it's a huge decision. People regret leaving jobs 5 minutes away from each other, let alone in a brand new country.
