I am a fair few months in my new position and a couple of nurses have said to me 'don't hang around if you see a job that interests you as you are capable of doing your nursing if you wish'. Thinking about this how do you go around doing the interview phase for a new job if you are on shift as they are set times, do you make your manager aware that you are actively looking for a new job or do you have the day off or arrange the interview around your off duty if they are flexible. How do you go about this when the time comes (not yet)?

Are you looking for a new job at the same hospital, you can arrange an interview in your break or on a day off but some trusts have set days for interviews so you would have to ring and arrange a mutually convenient time. If you are serious about gerting another job then they would ask if its ok to contact your manager for a reference which they can do if they offer you the job. What job are you looking for.

Not at the moment but I will do when the right position comes up. This would possibly be though at another trust but cannot rule anything out

Hi all, wondering if you can help me. I work as a healthcare assistant at a local hospital and have had recently had to have 3 days off work due to sickness, only had 2 other instances off due to illness in the year. Also I am taking a day annual leave and have been put down for a study day. Am I thinking that full pay would be given in all circumstances.

Thanks as I don't really understand as my manger is not being helpful
