Hi everyone, I’m after some advice or input as I’m not sure what to do. I’m 45 and I have 2 grown up children who are 18 and 17. I currently work 3 days a week in a private day nursery, I work 7:00am - 6:00pm 3 days a week. I have been offered a job working term time in a council run nursery where the hours would be 08:30am -5:30pm (this job is a lot closer to home but I’ve never worked term time)
what are the pros and cons ?
what would you advise?
xx

I think the main disadvantage given the ages of your children is that you’ll have all your holidays in school holidays.

If it's a council run nursery, you'll most likely be enrolled in LGPS pension scheme, which I imagine would be much better than your current pension scheme.

Lots of helpful discussion about the same dilemma on this thread

Yep, biggest drawback is that you won’t be able to take holiday when you want. And when you do go on holiday, you’ll be paying school holiday prices and be surrounded by kids.
