What Should I do next?

Feel at a loss on what to do next, have worked in benefits for last 20 years which is being phased out and genuinely at a loss on what on earth to do next. I am mid 40’s more approaching 50. Was looking at admin jobs but a lot ask for minuting meetings which I have not done for years and even this was checked over as was doing a very basic admin job at the time. Can touch type but no where near the speeds required. Was thinking of practising to try and get quicker in this area. Any ideas anyone? I need some inspiration.

You might want to contact one of the public sector focussed recruitment agencies and ask them for some pointers on options and if you train on something what would best.
if it is being phased out, can your current employer also offer any training or support to move into a new area?

Times have moved on, because so many roles require employees to use a keyboard, skills such as shorthand and wpm typing have faded away. The ability to take notes and type up are usually what is required. Obviously some roles may require higher skills, but not admin roles.
