Am i being managed out?

Been in new job 6 months as a new graduate. Have had some performance issues and am very scared of my boss/ mentor who luckily is no longer managing me as the boss knows i have a. " personality clash " with her.

Have been put on an informal performance improvement plan which will escalate to a more formal one if i don't improve...feeling very anxious.

Luckily i have a job interview coming up and hooe to get it. I'm ok at my job but make silly mistakes when I'm very anxious.

You're only being managed out of your performance doesn't improve. You now have a different mentor so there should be no issue.

You're being given a chance to improve. You can give it your absolute all (and resolve whatever the 'personality clash') was, but it's also sensible to look for new jobs just in case.

Capability is a reason for dismissal but they are giving you a chance to improve. Try and grab it. Yes, go for other jobs but a reference from this employer might not be great.

You've only been there 6 months - they've no need to 'manage you out', they can fire you for no reason at all. They're giving you a chance to improve instead.

Take it on board. For whatever reasons they are saying that you need to improve your performance, They are offering you a structured support path. Take it and learn a bit more about your own strengths and weaknesses.

Any new employer will also benefit. You may even get something interesting to say at interview.

Grab it both hands and make it work for you!
