Male colleague rubs me up the wrong way.
He's so arrogant, particularly to the younger employees (20s) and has tried to be a bit of a twit with me on a few occasions (I'm 50s, he's 30s).
At first I thought I was just reading in to the little things, but I'm sure he's got a problem with me and I have no idea why.
Very awkward atmosphere depending on what mood he's in that day. Any opportunity to undermine me or anyone else infront of the boss he jumps at. I asked him something the other month regarding a new client and he just looked at me and walked off. Very patronising, makes it very clear who his "work friends" are.
He's so unprofessional it's ridiculous. Swearing all the time, slagging other people off etc.
He tried to make me look small this week infront of the whole office so I got sarcastic back. I then confronted him in private to ask if he has a problem and he said he didn't, he's just a jokester apparently.
He obviously does. It feels like it's because I'm a woman and older. I've always been kind with everyone and I think he's mistaken this for weakness.
I want to make it very clear to him I won't take his crap but without losing my cool.
How do you deal with PITA colleagues you can avoid?
