Has anyone trained as a therapist/counsellor in London?

Hi everyone,

Am considering a career change (39) and currently researching the route to becoming a therapist/counsellor, with BACP accreditation. Has anyone trained to do this in London, and if so, where did you study?

I am considering the Minster Centre; my own therapist trained there and she's very good. But from what I can see, their diploma is 3 years, part time, when all other colleges seem to be 2 years. I'm aware I'll also need to do a certificate/foundation year prior to this.

Just wondering if anyone has experience of this and if so, if you would recommend where you studied?

Thanks!

Hi catnipples! What ended up happening with you? I have an interview for the foundation course at the minster centre on Friday and I came across your post.

Hi!
I ended up doing the fast track foundation course at the Minster, and am going on to start the diploma this September.
The foundation was intense, both practically and emotionally, but I'm glad I did it. If you have any specific questions, feel free to PM me 😊
Good luck with the interview!

Hi Catnipples,

can I ask what the minster fast track foundation course was like ?? Also changing career and was looking at the minster center - nice to have genuine feedback from someone who’s done it 😊
thanks

Are you doing the fast track foundation course beginning in Feb? I've just been accepted for it
