I'm seeking advice please!
I've been suspended from work.
Very long story short...there has been an 'incident' This has happened due to failure of company to provide me with suitable working tools, despite complaints being made about my working environment nothing was ever done about the concerns raised.

My union say I've done nothing wrong.
I'm still terrified and feel distraught even though I know I've not directly caused this to happen.

Has anyone else found themselves in a similar situation?

Suspension on full pay is treated as protecting both employee and employer. It does not imply guilt, it is about allowing time to investigate.

It’s good you have spoken to your TU. Try and remain calm, difficult I know. Consider if you need to see your doctor due to effect of seeing/being involved in the incident.

Practically, write down everything you remember about the incident. Leave it to one side, then if other memories pop up add them in. This helps to debrief you after the incident and gives you a record to remind you later on.

Also get copies of any emails, meetings etc. when you advised your employer you did not have the right tools, working environment.

I feel awful. Unable to eat/sleep. No support essentially just left.
Overwhelmed to say the least. I'm unable to talk to anyone about it and don't feel able to even share with my husband.

It's such a horrible feeling and the process may take weeks!!

Does your employer have an Employee Assistance Provider (EAP)? If so they often offer counselling - this could be an option so you can talk it through.
