Are there recognised qualifications for financial services compliance? And any particular course providers to look at?

You might want to look at the International Compliance Association (ICA), who run qualification courses on risk & compliance.

I also came to say ICA, they offer a range of specialisms and levels, from certificates to master's degree type qualifications with extensive written assignments.
