Is this normal?

I have not worked at many places. Where I work now feels toxic. People don't talk in the office. In each team a lot of people don't get on and long term staff find new people a threat and won't train them properly then say that the new people are incompetent. People get snappy or try and pass their work onto others. Management put pressure on and make sure that people have too much work to cope with and concerns are ignored. Is this normal in a workplace?

Well, it isn't my experience anywhere I have worked, but, I guess there are hundreds upon hundreds of different workplaces out there.
Doesn't really matter if it does happen in a few places or a lot more though, if it isn't the right work environment for you, start looking elsewhere.
You spend too much of your life at work to be working somewhere you really don't like, if you have an option to move elsewhere.

I could comment if this is ‘normal’ but it sounds toxic and therefore would try and find another job. Good luck!

i can't comment, that should say

I don’t know whether it’s normal. My former workplace had all of those things except for not training new employees properly.

Less enthusiastic about training agency or contract workers who supplanted the long-standing staff.
