Retraining as an early years tescher

This is my medium term goal, I hope to start studying or working closer to full time (though unless earning, will still have to work around limited school and funded nursery hours) once my youngest turns 3. She’s currently 4 months.

I’ve been looking at the Early Years PGCE at a local university, but obviously wouldn’t be able to start that immediately as it involves work placements. Even it was all distance learning, looking after a toddler, baby and the home takes most of my time and energy.

I was just wondering if there was anything I could start now that might help me start this new career in the future. Any online only qualifications that I can take at my own pace, for example.

You will get more replies if you ask Mumsnet to move this to the Staffroom section in Education.

You can’t train to be a teacher by distance learning, you need to be in the classroom.

I teach EYFS and am in school 7.15-6 most days-what will you do for childcare?
