CRO interview and compensation package

Hello! I got scouted for a position at a CRO which was made for me based on my skills, after I rejected an interview for a job that would not have worked for me. I have been told the team was eager to meet me, and they have developed a role which is fully remote and more senior with myself as the candidate in mind they have for it. It's all very exciting, this has never happened before.

I am nervous and not knowing what to expect at the interview! Does anyone have any advice who work or have worked for a CRO? The position is in data management.

Also...

I got asked what my expectations are when it came to a 'compensation package'

I have worked with the typical set salary grading rather than negotiable packages before and I know the question will pop up at the interview and I have no idea what to discuss over this. Concerning salary, I have a figure in mind but I don't want the focus of the conversation to seem purely money based. I have major imposter syndrome which I have been working on for the past few months so the idea of asking churns my stomach.

Any advice would be appreciated!

What’s your current package?

How big is the company- turnover, profit.

Who does the role report to?

At the moment, my current salary grade is 25kpa but I have been on this grade years and I know I'm underpaid for my skills. My current wage with out outgoings we just scrape by. I get quite a generous pension though at the moment.

Salary wise I am looking closer to 30 for a starting point.

I'm not sure who the role reports to they haven't specified that yet. The company itself is fairly small compared to the larger CROS but growing rapidly, they have recently merged with a large European company so they are expanding. Revenue wise there are conflicting reports so I'm unsure

According to Talent sites the average U.K. salary for a clinical Data Manager in the U.K. is £42K with entry level starting around £34.

What is the role title/responsibilities? You should be able to use that to benchmark similar vacancies nationwide to get an idea of average salary.

I've read different that CDMs are averaging around the 35k mark. It seems to vary which site you gather that information from.

It's an associate CDM role so my aim was 30+
