Leaving job-working for self---advice please

I am handing in my notice tomorrow and have started doing cleaning and ironing for self. How do i go about paperwork side of things? Who do i go to see?

Call HM Revenue and Customs to register as self-employed: have a look at this link. Tax people are very helpful and not at all scary in my experience!

I found the free seminar the Inland revenue give about registering being self-employed and sellf assesment very helpfull!

you should really go and see a start up agency...they can help you with paperwork, tax, etc....sometimes you can even get some funding. Have never done this myself but this is prob what I would do. You also want to ensure that you know the tax implications, ie what you have to pay and what you can write off etc...

bus link site pratical advice service for businesses. Also do grants ( I got £500 matching grant on my website)plus I have an account manager who I can call when I have queries. Also have large databases of suppliers which might be handy.
