How do I discuss that I’m unhappy with the work distribution?

Work has recently getting me down hence the username. I work in a team and we all do the same job, some more experienced than others due to we have apprentices on the team also . When I first joined the team it was a more varied role and the work was split between the team . After lockdown it was distributed slightly, with the supervisor insisting she did certain work and the rest of team mainly me do this other work . I was fine at first as this work was very busy so needed doing and I understood that the work would be distributed on rota ie other days .
Also a few months back I was asked to take responsibility of another job which I agreed .
This responsibility has not materialised nor has the work distribution so I’m still doing the same work every day and not the varied job that I did previously that I enjoy .
I’m increasingly getting down about it I was promised this challenging job with progression but it’s gone the opposite way . I don’t want to leave yet as the company has real promise and so does the job . I feel my supervisor is reluctant and the excuse is I’m too busy with this work . I don’t want more work just more varied work distributed amongst myself and the team .
Any advice on how I can approach this ?

I would ask again about the extra responsibilities and if they are not forthcoming I think you have to leave for your own sanity.

Not sure about the area you work in but could you raise it as a personal objective at your supervision or APR if appropriate in your role? We do these once every 4-6 weeks and twice per year respectively and would check up on the progress of goals previously set so would make sure your requests and your managers agreement are in writing- might give some weight to your position?
Good luck
