Asked for a pay increase

Just looking for opinions on this. Been working in my current role for a few years now. After a year of employment I asked for a pay review as it stated in my contract pay is usually reviewed after 6 months. So I had to chase this up. All good once I did and my pay increased a satisfactory amount at the time. I recently approached management that I wanted it reviewed again (5 years on) because honestly if I didn't then it would just stay the same forever! I didn't hear anything back once it was apparently 'passed on'. A colleague has recently had a pay rise (we're in the same role, same experience) and she's told me she's now on higher than me slightly. She's quite pushy so I can see how she's managed to get herself heard. I've now emailed the director (who I rarely ever see in person) and it's been a week and no response. Just total radio silence. What do I do in this situation? I have been looking for other jobs but there really isn't much at the moment. And I am generally really happy in my job.

What do you mean you approached management, have you booked in a face to face with your manager to ask and explain why you think it’s due and then a follow up meeting to get feedback?
