Redundancy when on maternity leave

I've recently found out the company I work for is going to cease trading in a matter of weeks, I believe they will be going down the liquidation route. I've been in this position before and know I will need to claim redundancy pay from HMRC. This time however is different as I am on maternity leave. I know I will need to claim my SMP from HMRC also, but does anyone know how it gets paid? Ie is it weekly/monthly/one lump sum? I've tried looking online and I'm finding it confusing.

Also does anyone know how it works regarding PILON? Can I claim that with my redundancy pay even if I'm on maternity leave?

You will receive an email from the Insolvency Service once your statutory notice period has come to an end and this email should also confirm the start and end dates of your notice period. You cannot apply for loss of notice pay until you receive this email and for which you can make an application online.

I know how to apply as I've been in this position before but not when on maternity leave so wondered if I would still get it and how it works, like is it on top of my SMP or is it deducted off.

I can't answer that, but I imagine it could come down to whether or not you'd have lapover time between when smp wouldn't be paid and the timescale that pilon would be relevant to, otherwise it would be double jeopardy.
