I recently got a promotion and a significant payrise and handed my notice in at my current workplace. Work have been so hostile towards me. Ignoring me to colleagues and management making really bitchy comments. Im really struggling to get through.ive been there years and thought they would understand. There was nowhere for me to go in my current workplace.

Ignore Ignore Ignore
You've inconvenienced your bosses by not staying in your place, quietly content to continue making them money. Your colleagues likely envy you. You'll be out of there soon, smile and wave

Sometimes this happens. Just get through it and then let them know how unacceptable their behaviour has been in your exit interview.

Fuckitydoodah · 09/03/2022 19:31

Well, I guess this reinforces that you've done the right thing. Nobody has to be employed at the same place until they retire. Very immature behaviour and I suspect it comes from jealousy.

Hold your head high and mark off the days.

How much longer do you have to serve on your notice period?

If its ages, would it be worth approaching your manager, saying given the bad feeling handing in your notice has caused, can you leave early?

Freemymind · 09/03/2022 19:41

one of our team experienced the same thing when they left their previous employers to join us - it really upset him. A year later he got an apology. Stupid approach, better to treat your staff well as they exit in the hope that they
a)speak well of you to other prospective employees

b)boomerang back to you when again
as well just being a nice human being.
Sorry they are being short sighted stupid shits, no regrets though!

Yeah I have a week to go. Its been awful. The Manager won't do anything as i have already complained about it.

Go off sick for the remainder of your notice period

NowEvenBetter · 09/03/2022 21:12

Any annual leave to take? Do you need a reference or anything from them? If not, just don’t provide them with your labour for that last week. Natural consequences.
