Need a designer?

Hi everyone. I'm quite new to this site and quite honestly can't stop messaging! I'm looking for freelancing work in designing publications - newsletters, leaflets, brochures, invitations - wondered if anyone has a need for this, or if they know of others who may (companies or individuals). I thought I'd put a few feelers out on this site as everyone seems to be so helpful.
Hoping to hear from some of you.....

We need a separate topic where we all write down what we do in case it might come in handy to other mumsnetters.... mumsnetwork or something.

Thanks for your message jansell, I'll bear you in mind!

hi jansell, I agree. Good idea to have a topic listing our skills.

I work in events management and communications, but before that did copywriting for years, so if you ever need to temporarily team up with a copywriter, I'm here!

No probs, beetroot. You probably thought I was near you because I stay in Devon a lot and we intend to move down there to work in a couple of years.

I didn't realise your dh was in events management. I'm really enjoying what I do, and it gets me away from sitting at the pc all day.

can I just ask how proofreaders get work? I have been correcting/editing various things on an ad hoc basis for friends etc and would like to work from home doing this. How would I start?I live in Brighton The last thing I did was a large collection of poetry for a friend who was reading it on radio 2.Unfortunately he was elderly and has now died and I have done nothing since

Hi guys. Wow, what a response! It seems there's a few of us out there trying to make this kind of work happen. I work full time at the moment and really want to get a better balance (or just a balance full stop!) between work and family and see this as a distinct possiblity. I miss my dh far too much to make full time work worthwhile to me now. Let's keep in touch and keep our eyes open for each other.
