I have two toddlers who will be able to go to nursery for 9-3 hours for free next year. I thought that would be a good time to go back to work.
Before kids I worked in an office and although I was low down, I feel like there's more of a possible career progression than working in a shop or something.
However I look at jobs and they are all full time 9-5 no flexibility. It would mean both kids need wraparound care both mornings and evenings. They are still young and I feel like it would be a long day, I think my youngest would be too young to go to these clubs any way. Partner works only 4 days but long hours.
I don't see how I'm going to get an office job again , any advice please

I employ an admin assistant in another country who has two young DC and she wfh. She did have lots of experience of working in an office in our area of work though. Bit maybe that is something you could work towards?

Could you try temping to start? Lots of people get permanent jobs that way if you make a good impression.

Some offices need evening secretaries if you live near a major city.

Maybe start with getting some admin qualifications, Excel, various Microsoft packages (check out what you need from current adverts) , and volunteering during nursery hours?

If they are toddlers you dont need wrap around care like schools just send them to a provate nursery that would cover all the hours.you get the funded ones and pay the extra on top, same as million of parents.

Or you hold out until you can find school hours one.

Be careful if you use the 30 hours funded every week that is only term time so you would have to find childcare and pay for it for a the holidays
