reason to worry or being over anxious?

DS started at nursery when he was 11 months old and absolutely loved it- no tears when dropping him off infact he used to toddle off and not look back and when Daddy picked him up he was often annoyed at having to leave

DP and I have recently relocated to near my parents and so DS wasnt in nursery for about 3 months, I have started him at a leapfrog nursery that got an excellent ofsted 4 weeks ago and he isnt settling sad infact if anything he is getting worse about it- the first few times he went in happily but when we picked him up he came running and headed for the exit.
Yesterday when I dropped him off I had to coax him in and play with him for a couple of minutes and then he cried when I left and when I picked him up he was sat crying, then today as soon as I took his coat off he started crying and it got worse as we went into his room I spent a few minutes trying to comfort him and then one of the staff took him and I went to reception and watched on the monitor. After 10 minutes of cuddles he finally calmed down and started playing.
He only does two days a week

Should I be worried and look into a different nursey for him or is he getting older and clingyier? I have never known DS to be like this and am really worrying that something is wrong at the nursey.
Also last week he was at the tail end of a cold and when my mum picked him up they said that he had been unsettled all day and upset-surely they should phone me if he is like that?

I had similar problems with my DS when we moved house. He started his first nursery at 7m and loved it and was never ever clingy. Then at 14m we moved house and he moved nursery and we had a really tough time for the first 6 weeks. He would cry and cry and even when I got to work and phoned up I could still hear him crying in the background. It was really horrendous and we said we'd give it a couple of months and then look for somewhere else. Anyway, he did settle in and now he loves it. Hope this helps.
