I’m a 40 year old mum of two, 10yr old boy and 7yr old girl, I have a degree in Law and worked as a Solicitor for 12 years (early morning drop offs at breakfast clubs and late pick up after work) feeling like I never saw my own children so when my local office was closed which would have meant travelling into the city centre and even less time with the kids I left the legal work behind and went to work with my husband at his garage (total change of career and major salary cut) but it meant I could do the school runs and spend more time with the kids which I love but after 4 years of working with my husband it’s putting a major strain on our marriage, I would love to hear of anyones ideas of the kind of work I could undertake where my legal background may help or any work that would still give me the opportunity to do the school runs with my kids, I still speak to my Solicitor pals and I don’t want to go back into practicing as a solicitor because I know that eventually I will be back to where I was missing out on my kids growing up, I would just love to hear of anyones employment journeys or ideas that may enlighten me to go for something else

Conflicts/ compliance role in a law firm. There’s a lot of scope to WFH in this field at the moment, and it’s the sort of role you can also do part-time.
