I applied for a senior leadership position at a local company and did not get an interview. It was a bit of a long shot but thought it was worth a try. A Head of department role has come up at the same place. It’s basically what I am doing now but in a slightly bigger department so a smaller step up plus it’s a bigger company overall so hopefully more opportunities to progress in the future. Will I look stupid applying for another job after only a couple of weeks after unsuccessfully applying for the first? My application form will be the same and I will tweak the covering letter but again it won’t be hugely different from the first.
