What job could my DH do?

Hello, DH is in his early forties. He trained as a car mechanic and worked his way up the career ladder to manager in a big corporate car company. He HATES it. He said he wants to do something 'worthwhile' but we're not sure how much of his skill set is transferable.

Things he is good at:
Great with people
Good at problem-solving
Anything HR related.

Things he is not good at:
Terrible at Maths
Scared of Excel
He left school at 16 and has no qualifications.

Any ideas? Thanks.

What about him doing a CIPD level 5 in HR?

It’s a qualification. HR pays well. Early 40s is a great time to retrain.

@SalsaLove I have not heard of that qualification before. We will look into it. Thank you! Also thanks for the encouragement - DH was worried he was a bit too old to retrain.

He’s not too old at all. An HR qualification is great for someone who’s already worked in a business and has a basic understanding of HR issues. Plus, there’s the life experience and knowledge that goes with being in your 40s. Best of luck to your DH.
