Promotion while pregnant - advice needed

I'm currently working a very stressful job and pregnant. I've been offered an opportunity for a promotion, however it would be a lot more stress and there's no way around reducing the workload and stress that this role will come with.

I'm a high risk pregnancy so have to take time off for additional appointments and so far its been difficult, not with work accommodating the appts but for me mental health wise.

One part of me is telling me to take it as I do really want to progress, but the other is telling me I don't need the extra stress right now and it's not the right time.

What would you do??

When you say your employer has "offered you" promotion, what does that entail, ie presumably they know you're pregnant so know that you will be off on Mat leave - and have the start date of your Mat leave? Have they been supportive in acknowledging your situation? What timescales have they given for your promotion to commence?

Without the support of your employer you'll find it difficult if you workload and associated stress is as relentless as you've posted. As your pg is a protected characteristic do they realise they have a legal duty to level the playing field for you by being supportive of your situation, because as a woman you are more likely than male employees to have a heavier burden of childcare so they should hopefully recognise that in how they handle the promotion.
