Hey so I have been working at this company for 14 years and over that I have probably had around 3 weeks sick days off over 14 years, I managed to catch covid a week and a bit ago so have been off for a week and started tested negative 2 days ago so was going to go back to work tomorrow, today I had to go to the hospital as my chest was really painful and it turns out I have scarring of the lungs from covid and they are sending me for an check to my heart so I called up apologising saying I wouldn't be in and I know we are really really short staffed we are a team of 4 down to 2 now tomorrow and the guilt is eating me alive, I hate the though of my lot working harder to cover for me has anyone got any ideas how to stop this feeling?

I feel your pain, just had a couple of weeks off e we itch work stress, no sooner do I have to go back does the whole house come down with covid.... I feel awful about it all, I already have imposter syndrome and always doubt myself, but this whole time is so testing.

Would anyone say thank you if you went in tomorrow? Or would it be taken for granted?

The chances are nobody would thank you so don't feel guilty!

You have scarring on your lungs after having Covid for a week? And they are checking your heart? Good luck.
