Hi

Currently signed off work by my doctor for work related stress. Nurse. Seems the last 2 years caught up on me and I lost it.

I've been off a month and I've realised I need to make a change. I need to find a new job. Something that doesn't come with the stress of my current one. I've got a few interviews coming up.

I work within the NHS and some of the jobs I've applied for are nhs jobs but completely different bands or roles..

Can I hand my notice in while being off sick? I can't physically or mentally bring myself to go back there. It would ruin any progress I make.

Yes you can and you might even find they're prepared to reach a settlement agreement. Speak to your union

If you are NHS and looking for NHS roles do not resign. Much easier to get a job and then transfer.

Obviously if this is not just burn out but due to poor working practices then as @QuestionsorComments says talk to your TU.
