Newly Freelance after voluntary redundancy

I posted (another name) last year about whether to take the plunge and take VR. I did! I'm having a mini break at the moment to sort out some life admin, and then planning on going freelance.

I've set up my LinkedIn profile, have started to make contacts, etc... but was just wondering how those of you that have taken this plunge got on. I'm considering also applying for contracts and interim roles - basically I don't want to go back into a full time corporate role.

Do any of you do a mix of interim roles and freelance?

What are the issues with interim roles I need to be wise to?

Did you struggle to get work when you left your corporate career?

Did any of you contact other (medium sized/local) consultants etc and offer your services - Ive been told to be cheeky and just do this (my field is a growing one and there seems to be consultants of all sizes everywhere) but it feels brazen!

I'm not really looking to set up my own company and market that- I've done some coaching and have decided I'm too introverted to "front" up a company. Happy to work to support behind the scenes albeit I'm fairly senior. I hope that's not an inherent contradiction.

Thanks in advance Smile
