Redundancy and newly pregnant

Hi all,

So this week I found out that we have managed to fall pregnant after a year of trying.

We've wanted to start a family for so long and want to be excited.

The week before, I found out that the company that I work for is closing down and will be out of a job by the end of March.

This is causing so much stress. What I do is very niche and finding a similar role let alone being pregnant is impossible.

I'm terrified that I won't find a new employer who will take me on for a short amount of time. Does anyone know of any jobs that I could make some basic money in?

I'm at a loss.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I don't see why you would need to to tell prospective employers you're pregnant. Personally I would probably tell them if offered a job, but not before. It would be illegal for an employer to withdraw a job offer because you're pregnant, that would be discrimination.

You could also look for short-term contract work or maternity cover positions, which many employers find difficult to fill.
