Hi,
Does anyone have any information on Kit days at work (NHS)

My maternity ends March, then I have my annual leave around 5/6 weeks to take from 2020.

Im now thinking about taking 12 months off maternity and I no you don't get paid the last 3 months if I did my 10 kit days would I get paid for this day? So instead of me not getting a penny would I get my kit day id be working? And is this up to your managers or is this our entitlements?

You get paid for KIT days, your trusts website should have maternity policy on it so that will give you details, or if you call HR.

I'm not sure if all trusts are the same but with my trust you get paid for up to 10 KIT days. You get paid your normal wage for them but my understanding is that you won't get your stat mat pay on top so it's best to take them once that has already expired (after 9 months)

Yes my trust paid for them. I also took 12 months off maternity and my maternity pay was divided over the 12 months so didn't have any months with no pay.

@Shivvy1 did you do your kit days after 9 months when smp stops?

I'm also spreading my maternity over 12 months, I'm due back in June and my pay goes bad again in March.

Was planning to do kit days this month to have in March pay.

Hey @AR52, I done a few early on in my maternity as there were meetings on that I wanted to go to regarding my job but then after that I think I done 2 a month for the last few months before I went back to work. I didn't get paid as much as I thought I would and when I queried it with payroll it was something to do with my maternity pay but I really can't remember what it was so that's not really helpful sorry 😣
