Claiming to be isolating but not

What would you do in this situation?
I'm working extra this coming week to cover someone who is supposed to be isolating but I've seen her out tonight. In a restaurant, having a meal. She was also tagged in photos online but they were swiftly removed. I wouldn't normally consider telling anyone but I've cancelled plans and I'm paying for extra childcare this week so I can work her shifts. I'm really annoyed. This is the second time she's done this, last year she was meant to be isolating and went to a hotel with her partner (she told me about this herself). I don't know if she's been told to isolate or if she's just lying.
It's not a job you can do from home.
What would you do?

Tell the boss

SilverHairedCat · 15/01/2022 21:42

Fuck her and her lies. Can you contact her and tell her you're no longer covering her for her shifts as she's taking the piss.

ENoeuf · 15/01/2022 21:43

Is it care or healthcare work? And she’s not allowed to work but is a contact? That’s the only scenario I can see where she might be able to do this. Otherwise I would tell your manager - what do you want though, think that through before approaching her? To get out of the shift/ to just inform them etc etc.

It's not care or healthcare. Sorry for being vague but don't want to be too identifying.
I'm going to work the shifts now I've made arrangements, I'm not sure what I want. Just some acknowledgement that she's taking the piss really Blush

I'm assuming she's definitely hiding something or the tagged photos wouldn't have been deleted.

Tell her boss.

I really wish I did but I didn't think they'd delete the photos so quickly. I'm leaning towards telling the boss but my husband thinks it's a terrible idea and I'll end up involved in unnecessary drama.

Ah that’s a shame - I was trying to think of something ‘acceptable’ but it’s hard if you are picking up the slack.

SaveWaterDrinkGin · 15/01/2022 22:14

Next time you see her just casually ask if she enjoyed her meal.

Suzi888 · 15/01/2022 22:15

I personally wouldn’t tell the boss- you have no proof.
She may well need to isolate but isn’t bothering (as many don’t) or made the whole thing up. When she came back I’d ask how her trip/meal etc was Grin though.

Hohofortherobbers · 15/01/2022 22:19

Can you openly message her saying how lovely it was to see her in x restaurant this evening and you hoped she enjoyed the meal? If you really fancy upping the ante perhaps say how great it is she doesn't need to isolate anymore

6464zz · 15/01/2022 22:21

Oh I could say something like didn't want to disturb you tonight but good to see you're out of isolation... Grin
I'm less annoyed now I've posted on here and got it off my chest!
