Won appeal and grievance, now want financial recompense

Good morning all.

I was discriminated and bullied by manager in work which made me very ill mentally. This resulted in 4 months off sick. I appealed the written warning she'd given me and also raised a grievance, both of which were upheld. That's great, and work are supporting me phasing back in, with the reasonable adjustments recommended by OH now put in place.

I received 13 weeks full pay, with the rest at 50% of my earnings. I'm currently around 1k down. This has impacted me massively.

I've asked to be put back into the financial position I would have been had the bullying not have taken place. I have spoken to ACAS and they agree with me. I've also discussed early conciliation with them.

I have a meeting with big boss at 11am today to discuss it. I'm also going to ask for credit card interest to be paid as I've had to use it to survive.

Any tips from anyone on wording? I'm autistic and sometimes struggle to use the right words in a meeting like this.

Thanks 😊

Say what you have put in your post . Can you please be compensated for your lost wages and interest incurred on your credit card . I would also ask for the time off not to go against you on your employment record

I would write down exactly what you want and either send it to your boss beforehand or take it to the meeting so that you can both look at it and base the discussion around your figures.

Qwerty, good call, my line manager is already looking into this as we discussed it in my rtw interview on Wednesday.

Payroll have come back with a hard no. Going to talk to ACAS about early conciliation now. This may cost them more than if they'd just levelled up! The manager did all he could but his hands are tied. I'll let you know how it goes!
