I work well in a busy and challenging environment, taking energy from it to reflect into the team. I am curious about the reasoning behind processes and take satisfaction in improving them to make work more streamlines and efficient for me and my colleagues. I have an aptitude for business applications, I currently work with multiple core business applications, Autotask, QuoteWerks, Opera 3, HubSpot and the Microsoft Office suite.
XXX - Internal Sales Account Manager
Date - present
During the 10 years at X I have worked in all the administrative and supply chain functions of the business. Four months ago, following two years providing PA work for the Sales Director, I was seconded into the Internal Sales Account Manager position. My key skills, responsibilities, and experiences include
• Internal Account Management
o Regular Teams meetings with customer stake holders for new sales and service reviews
o Service contract renewal and retention – review of profitability, communication with client, overcoming resistance
o Quotes – collating technical presales documentation, preparing proposals, maximising margin/profitability/recurring revenue, pre-empting issues
o Pipeline forecasting
o Point of contact for customer problems or escalation
• Executive Support
o Booking meetings and travel for Sales Director
o Creating and preparing company reports
o Quote/Proposal preparation
o Meeting notes/minuting
o Coordinating team training/certification
o Organising customer seminars – liaising with speakers, arranging location and husbandry, invitations and guest list
• Other duties
o Management and admin of QuoteWerks (Quote application) - template/product creation, user management, relationship with software provider
o Daily admin of HubSpot (Lead Management application) and working with external marketing professionals to maximise lead potential
o Report writing and scheduling in AutoTask (CRM and Service Desk application)
Some of my notable achievements are
• Created a Sales Pipeline Analysis report using Power BI. My dashboard style report allows the directors and senior management team to accurately visualise when sales of our different lines of business are expected to close. This information means that they can more confidently schedule resources. The report collates information from multiple data sources and uses relationships and measures to analyse data in a way that Excel can not easily do. I undertook the project to create this tool for my sales director on my own initiative, with no prior knowledge of Power BI, following a comment that he couldn’t easily see what services had been forecast.
• Implemented an improved process for support contract renewals. Historically we relied on Excel reports to see upcoming renewals and profitability. It was a manual exercise for account managers to review and provide feedback to the admin team. I created widgets within Autotask so that the account managers see their relevant clients who are due for renewal and can easily find the profitability for each contract. My new process made use of the inbuilt CRM notifications to give the required information to admin to reduce reliance on Excel and emails while maintaining an audit trail.
• Collaborated with the senior management team to create a process and templates for the management of Customer Service Review Meetings. A brand-new process within the company, I put together project templates with either a monthly or quarterly schedule for meetings. I added widgets to the account managers dashboard to prompt which upcoming meetings need to be scheduled, remind the salesperson when they are due and flag up if they have been missed. I also created manager facing widgets for the Sales Director and Managing Director to use for team management. I wrote a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) so that the procedure is documented.
