Primary School Business Manager

I’m currently working as Finance Assistant in a secondary school and also working towards a finance qualification, I’ve just seen a job advertised for a Primary School Business Manager but I don’t think I’ve quite got the experience needed.

Just wondering if anyone else is in this role at the moment and ask what you did before and what your job entails? The job description is quite vague in the advert, I have a general idea but wondering if it’s worth applying or wait a couple of years when I’ve got more experience

I would suggest you have as good a chance as anyone else, as you already work in Education and in Finance. Not many who are looking for work already do.

Why wait?
Apply let them decide if they think you are suitable. Worst case scenario you don’t get the job and you are no worse off

Thanks for your replies, I guess I’m just worried I don’t have the knowledge or experience to actually do the full job

I know schools often struggle to recruit to these posts so I'd definitely say go for it. If they think you haven't got the experience they won't appoint you.

You have nothing to lose - if the job description is quite vague then it probably means they aren’t 100% sure on what the role means for them. Which could be great because you could potentially mould the role to what suits you!

Go for it OP. The worst case is they say thanks but no thanks because they are looking for something you’re not quite ticking the boxes for OR best case they like you and your experience and you get the job Grin
