Work group chat

A few yrs ago our new young boss started a group chat.
All good.Apart from anything the women said was largely ignored.
Fast forward to now when everyone has left just 3 of us on it.
I muted it but there is still rude memes or just ridiculous stuff the two others could tell each other by text.
I feel like it is too much silly info.
They know I've been suffering from anxiety for months which has finally resolved so need some boundaries as I work long hours so family time is important.
The Rota was previously put on the group chat so I didn't want to leave and miss important information regarding work.
Anyone had this.
I don't want to be rude either.

If it’s no longer used for work stuff then just leave the chat

LondonQueen · 02/01/2022 20:30

If it's no longer work related surely you'd just leave? Not sure this needs a thread unless there's some other issue.

If I leave I'm sure the boss will put important info on there which I will miss regarding deliveries menu changes etc.
There has been some underhand behaviour which I don't want to resume.
I'm not sure if group chats require everyone to be in them either.
The other colleagues who left barely acknowledged posts as it was so silly so it is not just me.

”If I leave I'm sure the boss will put important info on there which I will miss regarding deliveries menu changes etc.”

Why would she do that if you and, by the sounds of it, almost everyone else, aren’t on there? If there’s currently just you and the boss and one colleague on there, and everyone else has left, presumably rotas and work stuff are already being communicated another way?

Just leave! Tell your boss you are doing so, so it’s not a flounce, but there doesn’t seem to be any reason to stick with it.

bucketsoflove · 03/01/2022 08:18

If it was set up by boss and the others are sharing inappropriate memes then I would be reporting it.

whatisforteamum · 03/01/2022 08:47

The boss is manipulative and has pulled other stunts before that I've had to pull him up on.
I'm decades older so don't know the whole chat rules and don't wañt to alienate myself further.
There is another group chat for the managers that I believe they behave on.

So I muted for the weeks holiday.
Now getting posts questioning me on my days off.
Absolutely no work life balance. Unsure what I can do for my MH.
Surely we don't have to be available 24/7
