Interview clothes?

So, I applied for a job as a bus driver on a whim without thinking I'd even get a foot in the door but now I have an interview! I haven't had a formal interview since I was a teenager 20 years ago... (I clean / work in a launderette, very relaxed interview processes..) I have NO IDEA what to wear. I only have comfortable clothes and I don't have a lot of money so now I'm panicking slightly ..help 😂

@Anxious weirdo - I do not know where these people are or how practical for you - but might be worth a google - a friend of mine got a suit from them for an interview - sorry if no help. Otherwise a clean nice shirt or jumper and skirt or trousers I think would be fine - But here is the link in case useful - Very best luck for your interview Flowers www.suitedforsuccess.co.uk/about-us

Just some smart trousers in black, grey or navy and a blouse or smart jumper. Next have a lot of decent, smart/office wear for reasonable prices too. You don't need to go full on suit.

Thank you, that puts my mind at rest a bit ... How about shoes? All I have is trainers which I know aren't suitable but being a chunky 6ft tall, I feel really daft in those little work slipper shoes Blush

Do you have any black boots? I wouldn't wear trainers for an interview to be honest. Personally I'd always wear a smart flat shoe. You can get shoes from supermarkets like asda or primark for cheap. A lot of brogue styles are in fashion at the moment rather than ballet shoes as well so plenty of that kind of thing in the shops.

AnxiousWeirdo · 30/12/2021 18:38

Ah no I don't but I'm definitely going to see what Asda has to offer. Thanks a lot for the advice, I'm so out of touch with fashion in general that interview wear really scared me 😂

Well done @AnxiousWeirdo good luck 🍀
Come back and tell us how you got on

I'd normally wear a smart jacket, blouse and either skirt or trousers. All of which can be worn mix and match with other outfits in the future.

Supermarkets sell such items, or you can order them into your local store for collection. Asda, Matalan, Next, Sainsburys TU and M&S I've found bits here and there.

I'd normally wear a low, heel, but flats are fine if you are more comfortable in those. The main thing is comfy shoes you have worn before and don't get blisters from them.
