I’m in my late 20s and objectively doing ok. I have a good job altho high stress and made 100k this year. I’m really proud of myself but am not the kind of person who sings my own praises and neither are my family (parents... I’m single).

My mum will bang on about how much everyone in her social circle earns, their children, how well they’re doing but doesn’t believe in speaking about her own children. I think it’s vulgar to talk about salary anyway plus it’s no ones business but sometimes it hurts to swallow constantly about everyone else and how well they’re doing, and have no one in your corner congratulating you!!!! Am I being childish and naive?!

Who is your mother telling about people's earnings and how does she know what they earn anyway?

Does she know how much you earn?

£100K in your late twenties is a lot. Well done Flowers
