If your baby was off nursery sick, would your employer be ok with you WFH?

If you have a job where you can work from home and your baby was off nursery sick, would your employer be comfortable with you working from home?

I'm trying to work out who is being unreasonable.

I would be able to. My boss would expect me to just do what I can and would probably check in to make sure me and my child are okay. They're very flexible and good with things like this. I understand some other employers aren't so much.

If it was long term I'd be expected to take some leave or find a relative to help with childcare.

Depends on age. I usually give them the option and as we're chronically short staffed would rather I logged on and did something/anything rather than be on parental leave and do nothing

I’d imagine you can’t work properly when you’re looking after a sick child so would expect this to be family leave

7 months old, no chance of doing any real work unless they are in that grizzly want to feed all the time thing and you can get on with emails while they bf. Our group you'd say you'd do what you could and see how many hours you need to book off according to what gets done in the day/ make it up in the week.
I did have a lovely meeting last week when my colleagues gorgeous 2 year old just silently cuddled up into her for the whole call (and I know this child doesn't speak english either, so no restrictions about our conversation) as he was off nursery sick, but wanted nothing more than mama cuddles so she could still work

A child perhaps but a baby definitely not.
