How to word person specification for job application

I am submitting about my 3rd application for the NHS for a creative role, usually you have to list the person specification and how you meet the requirements with evidence to support this. Although previously I have done this thoroughly in my application but I never get shortlisted! Does anyone have any hints/tips? I don't know where I'm going wrong!

What I do personally is print the person specification and then write next to each one what experience I have that relates to it with some examples. Once I've done that I edit out the week examples and make sure I include all of the others, but in a coherent way rather than bullet points etc- either in the personal statement or by highlighting elements of previous jobs so they are all addressed. When giving examples STAR is a good approach to use.

Yes that's what I do too, what is the star approach?

As the above link, its a good way to get the most of our your answers, especially if under pressure. For example, if a question is around when you've used IT to improve a process:

I made a database on excel

Isn't as good as:

I identified that x process could be improved by collating the data in a live database- I got input from the team to ensure what I was making was fit for purpose, and created a database on excel which encorporated x, y, z. The result was a more streamlined process which saved time and helped do z.

I've sifted a lot of applications, and often I think people leave out what they think will be obvious anyway (not always the case), or don't clearly explain what they did because again they assume someone will intrinsically know.
