Afternoon/evening childcare suggestions

I have just been offered an interview for an evening post for four evening a week. It would mean leaving home at 4.15 pm, and my husband doesn't return from work until some time between 6.15 and 7.15. My mum has offered to sit with the children for two of the four days (although she has a house overseas, so this wouldn't be feasible all the time. Any suggestions for childcare for the rest of the time?

Childminder, possibly one who could pick up your little un when she does the school run, and the your dh/p could get kids when he returns home.

Or possibly a part time nanny / au pair share (depending on age of kids)

mt, i have a childminder for that sort of reason and its worked out very well

she is more than happy to give dd her tea if dh is late on occasions too. they have afamily mealtime in their house so im really happy with it all. good luck withthe interview!

hi mt both girls are going great and are the best of friends. thanks for asking! i have the best childminder, she is fantastic. she has a lovely family of her own, 3 children all at high school. i pay her 730am til 530pm 2 days a week but sometimes dh picks her up late (i work nights) and we dont have to worry about dd missing her tea occasionally because she will be included in their family meal. my childminder is extremely flexible and i would highly recommend childminders. plus she is only £2 per hr! cant wait to hear about how your interview went!

they were until i posted and read the other threads wish i hadnt bothered!

Ignore them NP. They try to lord it up to disguise their own inadequacies. Can't stay for long because DH has gone to bed, but is DD2 thriving on her formula?

she is such a happy baby, mt. the whole family is happy! despite whats been said here recently
