Career change school hours

I am looking for an idea for a career change. I need to work school hours as have young children one with a health condition who has appointments. At the moment I do data entry from home which sounds ideal as the hours are flexible but it is soul destroying! After 2 hours of typing I struggle to carry on and really hate the work. I want to find something else to do either employed or self employed. My daughter has been off sick this week and it has made me realise in a lot of jobs this would have been a disaster this week but I have been able to do my data entry while she sleeps. But I hate it 😭

I would really like to get into beauty or nails and have signed up for the local college next year, but this week has made me realise I would have had to have let clients down with my daughter being ill. I want to train in something new and interesting but am worried about losing the flexibility. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you in advance

Hi,

It sounds like you dont like your job but you enjoy wfh. Have you ever thought of applying for a more interesting wfh job?

I’ve found local council to be flexible for wfh. I’m in comms. and wfh school hours.

I work in a school nursery, get all school holidays off. Pay isn’t good though.
