Part time work, what is reasonable

I have returned to work 2 days a week. I have 2 young children so working full time doesn't work at this time. I feel i'm always on call though! Last night, there was whole staff training that was only promoted the day before (when I don't work.) i had a message from my boss asking where I was, she said it had been promoted via email the day before. Is it acceptable to not check your email on your day off? I hate to be obstructive but I feel the part time job is creeping into more and more hours. I feel there's also an expectation to work at the weekends, with emails being sent on Sunday that need to be read.

I’d set an “out of office” auto reply when you finish. Definitely don’t check your emails on your days off.

Don’t let them take the p*ss!

Yes, I agree with the above. It's ok not to check your emails, but it's better if you set up an out of office so that it's clear you haven't seen the email.
