Sick note

Just a quick question about a sick note.

I have been sent home from work today due to epilepsy playing up again. Have been told to go off sick and to get sick note.

I am allowed to self certify for 7 days but have agreed with employer that I will be off for around 10 days so will then need a sick note.

I thought I would just get the sick note out of the way today so that I don't have to remember to do it next week. It is dated from today but am I allowed to hand this in still as technically I don't need to have a sick note until the 24th Nov? Does it matter that it states the sick note is from today? It is until the 29th November.

Thanks

I would have got it for next week. Set myself a reminder. Is the certificate for a week or 2 weeks? Does it cover the time you need off?

I've asked for the note to cover up until the 29th November which covers all of the time I need off. I'm just hoping it's still acceptable to hand in.

I can self cert for 5 days but have handed in a sick note starting on day 1 a couple of times (mental health related), it’s never been an issue

You can hand it in now, with today's date on it.

You can self certify for the first 7 days, but you don't have to. You can have a medical Fit for Work certificate from day 1 if your GP is happy to give you one.
