Guaranteed Interview Scheme

Anyone know anything about this? I have a disability, but it's not really something that affects my ability to complete an application form (hearing loss) and so I'd feel a bit of a fraud if I ticked it? Isn't it just for people who struggle to fill in the form?

No it’s not just for people who struggle with the form. Employers who have signed up to Disability Confident commit to offering people with a disability an interview provided they meet the minimum criteria or benchmark score for the role. It is taken as separate to the diversity monitoring questions at the end of the application. It’s a way of levelling the playing field as some people with disabilities may face barriers or challenges with certain aspects of the selection process. It’s not a guarantee of a job or even an interview as you still need to meet benchmark and it gives you the best opportunity to demonstrate your suitability for the role.

You are still entitled to reasonable adjustments if you don’t go for the GIS, just let the recruiter know should your application be progressed.

Thank you, that's what I thought, that helps Smile
