How to suck up annoying client?

I work as a contractor and work 40 hours per week for the same company. I'm experienced in my role which is a technical professional so they can't replace me with 'anyone'. I've been there 18 months. My industry is going through a hard time so other opportunities will be hard to find.

The Project Manager behaves like a spoilt child and is quite aggressive. We are all working from home so its all through a screen. Its his way or no way. And most of the team (who have worked with him before) just suck that up. Its a very small company and for some reason they introduced an intermediary level so I now have someone between myself and the PM. This is good in that I have less interaction with the spoilt child but its frustrating in that I am now excluded from meetings etc. and it all seems a bit more chaotic.
I know I just need to suck it up and think of the money but I just need to vent ;-). If anyone has any tips on keeping calm and carrying on let me know.

Frustrating I imagine. Count your blessings that you are all WFH as my experience is it takes the emotion out of office politics…

I know you said your industry is struggling, but I'd be looking (HARD) for other clients.

In the meantime, I'd make the most of WFH. Do what you need to do & try not to get too invested in the company or too involved in their power games & arse licking.

Easier said than done, I know.

Can the intermediate person not take extensive notes for every meeting.

You will be doing this already but I'd keep extensive records of every request they overrule on so if it goes wrong or takes longer at least you can flag why.
