I work 3 days pw split shifts for a 24/7 service. I need to earn more & want to work 2 days elsewhere or self employed (no conflict of interest). I've had lots of opportunities but my current employer changes our rotas at short notice & refuses to agree consistent work days so I can't commit elsewhere. Is there anything I can do about this other than leaving? I can't increase hours where I am as it's highly stressful fast-paced shifts & for my MH I wanted a better balance. It feels odd that they are paying me on a 24hr weekly contract yet I am expected to remain available to be rota'd any day of the week? Do I have any rights at all or do I have to suck it up or leave?
