Feeling so deflated

Decided to throw my hat back in the ri g after a few years at home with DC. My previous role was working on national accounts for a very well known company. I saw a local job which was below my skill level but it felt like a good first step. The recruitment agent was very keen until they realised I'm not currently in the work ace. They said they wouldn't put me forward for anything and I should look at temp work (which I really can't see working with a family). I feel so deflated. Any advice ot kind words?

That's a terrible response from them. Have you looked into "returner" programmes? Quite a few banks & large professional firms have them. I think they are fixed term with a view to you being retained once you've finished. If nothing else it refreshes your cv & boosts your confidence.
Good luck & don't let one moron get you down!!

They are idiots
Talk to other Recruiters and keep looking on LI, indeed etc
Good luck

Thanks so much for kind replies. As fate would have it someone told me about a returnship seminar happening yesterday and it went really really well! I was feeling so bad yesterday but it really does seem laughable now
