Resigning

I am planning on resigning from my job. I have a new job.

My contract says one month’s notice. If I resign on Wednesday 3rd, would you say my last day would be Thursday 2 December?

I think it would be Wed 1st if you give 4 weeks, or Friday 3rd if you give 1 month.

To me it makes more sense to finish on a Friday, but there is no logical reason to that, it just feels neater.

Notice starts the day after so technically your last day would be 3 December but if you specified 2nd December most employers would be fine with that.

A month would make your last day Friday 3 dec

Thank you. Friday is the better day I think.

Resign so your last day is a Sunday, with last working day the Friday.

You get two days extra pay and benefits then.
