I qualified as an OT a few years ago and I am considering specialising in children’s OT. If there are any OTs in children’s service can you tell me how you feel this role is, especially during Covid. I’m particularly interested in if COVID restrictions has changed your job satisfaction. I’m currently on a rotation in children’s OT and I thought it was where I wanted to specialise but now I’m not quite sure. I feel this decision is likely impacted as I dislike being a ‘virtual therapist’. I was previously in adults community and ward so was mostly continuing to see patients.
Any insight you have would be great. I’m aware everyone’s experience will be different but I would value a wider view from those of you who work in this area.
